GATHERING (OCTOBER 2014)

[Waspstar]

Waspstar, the mighty, sleek, intelligent, black tom strode into the clearing, the first to the gathering for once which was absolutely incredible. His fur tingled with excitement, "First is defiantly not the worst, those other slow pokes better hurry up because WASPSTAR is here." He sat in the center of the meeting place, and looked around for any sign of the other leaders' arrival, but saw none thus far. He sighed and laid down on the cool snow. As he waited, and quite impatiently, the tip of his tail began to flick from side to side and he started to think. Man waiting quite impatiently. "Is this what its like when I show up late? I keep everyone waiting like this? Hmmm...But the other leaders have each other to keep them company! Its not THIS bad..." He thought to himself "Wait..." He looked up at the moon and stars and realized something...None of his clan mates showed up with him! That sure would have been nice having SOME company, but no, he was alone for now. 

Waspstar waited and waited, but there was still no sign of any of the other clans! 'AMAZING! They sure are really late!' He kept thinking...Eventually he fell asleep and slept soundly through the night... and woke in the morning as usually...Where...were they? It had been a whole day! This sure was odd! He paced around throughout the day, hunting around for some mice or something to fill his belly..he had been up here for quite a while. He went about his normal Waspstar things to fill the day, wondering where in the world the other cats were until eventually the sun began to set. He sat down again in a different spot..waiting...waiting...until FINALLY he saw signs of another clan in the distance. Waspstar hopped to his feet and yelled to them "WOW YOU GUYS ARE REEEEAAAALLLY LATE! AND YOU MAKE FUN OF ME FOR BEING LATE!"

Waspstar, now much slimmer, but very much alive, still sat in the center of the meeting place. It turned out the "cats" were not cats, but more trees..a common mistake the noble leader has made in the past. Almost a month later he still hung around the snowtrees, he had been living off what he could find for the past month now...still no one has shown up. But Waspstar was not going to give up yet. He was patient. He was smart. He was kind. He would not lose faith in his fellow clanmembers and cats of the forest. Waspstar rolled onto his back and looks up at the stars wondering what he could do to pass the time. He sighed heavily and began to sing a tune to make the night go by faster. "Wake me up..." He sang, very much awake. He could not sleep infact. He had a feeling they would show tonight. "Wake me up inside! Wake up me and save me from the DARKNESS i've become...nuh nuh nuh nuh nuh..until i come undone..save me from the- uh...BRING ME TO LIFE!" This went on for hours; he bellowed out the familiar tunes his father bugeye used to sing to him when he was only a kit. "Bewitchedwiiilloowwowwwww....." He began to talk to himself "BW....bee....double...you...bee...bee...wasp...wasp...WASPSTAR..."
He had been alone for far too long now.
